Gotcha!

The convenience of having a webcam at home is that I can monitor my children whenever I’m free. I was at work today and happened to saw our little boy trying to climb up & down the sofa & he was reprimanded by Ah Ma..hehe!

FYI: Initially we installed the webcam was to spy on the maid’s action. Since we are maidless now, it’s actually a good tool for me to look at our children whenever I miss them during work.

Hubby got 5 free tickets to Air Show, we brought along our son & went there with my BIL, SIL & her husband. It was a blazing hot day, and the heat was unbearable. We were hanging around outside of the exhibit hall to look at all the gigantic planes & I got myself sun-burned…sigh!

Luckily, our son was not affected by the weather, he was busy enjoying roaming around in the exhibit hall (trying to get freebies & goodie bags from various booths) . After spending about 7 hours there, we decided to go home and rest. The crowd was crazy, I got a shocked when we were leaving the place at around 4pm. The queue for the shuttle bus/ coaches & taxis were extremely long…..*faint*! In the end, all of us decided to take the 7-seater limousine van to go back home…luckily it’s much faster.

Music Lesson

piano2.jpgAlthough hubby & myself learnt music during our younger days, sad to say that we stopped halfway and did not manage to finish our music courses. Hubby learnt violin & myself learnt the piano. I stopped at Grade 5 & lost my Grade 5 certificate…sob sob! Come to think about it, I haven’t been playing piano ever since I stopped at Secondary 3. The reason I stopped playing is due to stress from school work & maybe I was getting quite bored on pratising the same songs for the music exam over and over again..haha! Imagine all my parent’s money had gone down the drain….(feeling a bit guilty now :P).

When I was pregnant, I will let the baby hear classical or baby’s music almost everyday to sort of stimulate their brain. I dunno whether this will work but no harm doing it rite? Now we felt that our children are quite interested in music (judging by their action), so hubby suggested that I should start scouting for a suitable music school for our son (obviously, this task is thrown to me now :)).

I have been scouting around for a suitable music school for a couple of months already, finally decided on one (I shall not reveal which school till it’s confirm!) and the good news is they are going to open a new branch in Hougang soon. I felt so happy because it will be nearer and more convenient for me to send him to and fro. So in the meantime I will wait for their call to organise and confirm the class before the opening! Woo hoo!

8 months old

img_0342.jpgOur princess has turned 8 months already…so fast! Now she can say “mum-mum” during feeding time. She likes music and will mumble a few sounds out. She likes to clap her hands when she hears music or if we ask her to do it. Always like to smile and laugh and play…likes shopping (will sit in the stroller for a long time without complaints unless she’s hungry for milk)!

Happy V-Day..

This year I had a very special valentine’s day (I’m not saying the past year wasn’t special :P), because hubby bought me a LV bag (Neverfull MM) from France (it’s big & spacious, enough for me to use as diaper bag cum working bag). Just nice his company sent him there for a week on biz trip. Muahaha! It’s not that I never use any LV stuff before (my mother bought me a wallet, coin pouch & a pochette last time). At first he wasn’t sure he will have the time to go to LV boutique, but he decided to extend 1 more day to meet up with his friend in Paris & do some shopping at the very last minute. Since he was there, he wanted to buy me a bag (at least it’s cheaper than Singapore by a few hundred dollars) to satisfy my materialistic needs.

On V-day, I thought it’s going to be a boring day again but in the late evening we managed to get out of the house to do some shopping & eating without bringing the kids along (after I put our ger to sleep & my mum helped to look after our boy). Since I have the $100 Starhub discount voucher to continue my subcription plan, I decided to use it and buy a HTC S730 phone (with Qwerty keypad) for hubby. His Motorola phone was getting quite retarted these days (coz our boy like to fiddle with hubby’s phone, dropped here & there), and deducted the voucher and trade-in the old phone, I just need to top-up some money. While waiting in the queue, I was so hungry that we decided to get the free Haagen-dazs ice-cream (voucher sponsored by my SIL). Personally, I don’t really like those touch screen phone becoz it’s not very user friendly to drivers, so I chose this model for him. I like it and he like it too! Hmm…maybe when it’s my turn to change my handphone, I might consider getting the same model as hubby’s..muahaha!

By the time we finished everything at Starhub (which took almost 2 hours), all the restaurants were closed for the day. Our only option is to go to Mac Donald’s and get a quick bite before heading home to rest.

P/S: Thank you hubby for pampering me with such a lavish gift!

DIY 鱼生

My 1st attempt on the Yu Sheng by myself at home. Presentation so-so only! I shredded some cucumber & carrot, but apparently I forgot to drain away the moisture from the vege thus made the Yu Sheng a bit more wet than the ones we had outside. Oops! Well…at least it’s better than nothing rite? I used a can of abalone instead of the usual raw fish, yummy!

Buggy Board

I have been contemplating for a while whether to buy a 2 seater stroller or a buggy board for our 2 children. As a concerned mother, I will look high & low for cheaper & feasible solutions for them. After months of constant searching & thinking…I have decided to buy a $90 buggy board to attach to our current stroller. Our toddler boy had a fun time standing behind his sister while I was pushing the stroller!

Miss Fussy!

I have never tried feeding my children during the early stages (4 months onwards), because PD advice me not to do that till they are 6 months onward. Time passes so fast, our little princess starts to take some rice cereal & some porridge. When it comes to eating, she is more fussy than her brother. She will show her displeasure by puking out or closes her mouth tightly that the spoon is unable to feed through! Now she even plays with her water bottle and trys to avoid taking plain water from the bottle. I remembered our boy also went through the same phase before and we used the syringe (the type that we used to feed medicine to the children) to force feed some plain water every now and then. So I have to use the same method to our ger, and it works! Hopefully she will pass this phase quickly and be able to adapt to normal eating pattern soon….

Basic courtesy

Talking about basic courtesy, most people took it for granted that it’s not very important in their everyday lives. Since young, my parents taught me to show basic courtesy to strangers, families members & friends. A simple “Thank you” / “xie xie” / “Hello” / “ni hao” might not be a significant word to some people, but it actually reflects your upbringing & your character. Saying a few more words from our mouth would not cause us to lose anything at all, in fact it will make people feel happier!

As a mother of 2 now, I always believe basic courtesy is very important for them to learn and use in their everyday lives. Every time, I will remind my son to say thank you or say some greetings when they see any aunties/ uncles or even children. Even though my ger is still young, I will still use the same method to educate her about basic courtesy, as I believe that “Shang Liang Bu Zheng, Xia Liang Wai”. Quite shameful to say that in this society, there’s still a small fraction of people who do not know the meaning of basic courtesy, or are they just plain lazy?
